Access Salesforce Reports and Dashboards in Slack with the CRM Analytics App

Salesforce CRM Analytics isn’t just for dashboards and lenses tucked away in Salesforce anymore. With the CRM Analytics for Slack app, users can bring powerful analytics insights right into their Slack workspace—where collaboration happens in real time.

We will explore how users can view, share, and act on standard Salesforce Reports and Dashboards(no paid CRM Analytics Licenses required) without leaving Slack. Whether you’re a sales manager monitoring pipeline health or a service leader tracking case resolution times, CRM Analytics in Slack makes it easier than ever to stay informed and responsive.

Assuming you’ve already connected your Salesforce Org to your Slack Workspace, out first step will be to enable the CRM Analytics app in Salesforce and install it in Slack. From Setup in Salesforce search for CRM Analytics for Slack.

Next we will create and assign a Permission Set that includes three Permissions:

  1. Use CRM Analytics
  2. Subscribe to CRM Analytics Assets
  3. Add Recipients to CRM Analytics Notifications

Now we need to install the CRM Analytics App in Slack. This will take a few steps.

With our App installed in Slack we now have a UI to access our Reports and Dashboards along with several great features.

Browse and view recent and favorite Reports and Dashboards

We are able to see or Recents and Favorites and have a series of commands that we can use to search and access others.

View and Share Analytics Snapshots

By clicking on the three dots to the right of a Dashboard within the CRM Analytics App we can generate a Snapshot that can be viewed from the Messages tab or Shared with another person or Channel.

Send Dashboards to Slack

Just us the Slack icon button on the top right of the Dashboard, then select your Workspace and Channel and add a message.

View and Manage Subscriptions to Lightning Reports and Dashboards

Note: You can subscribe to up to 7 reports or dashboards in Slack. These subscriptions are in addition to subscriptions imported from Lightning Experience, where you can have subscriptions for up to 5 reports and 5 dashboards.

You’ve now seen how you can utilize the CRM Analytics App. If you’d like to see how to use Flow to send Reports and Dashboards to Salesforce take a look at my recent post on Salesforce Break.
